James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2019 93/100 "Fresh with fruit, slippery with vanilla, complex, layered, exuberant; all that and more. Overt cherry notes lend it a distinctive persona. It smells exotic; it tastes like a delicacy."
James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2018 93/100
James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2017 93/100
James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2016 90/100
James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2014 90/100 "Similar orange-red colour to the previous release, much better balanced, although the rancio is not particularly obvious."
Australian Wine Showcase Magazine 92/100
James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2010 89/100 "Fresh oak, vibrant red fruit, pleasant rancio complexity, all working well with the fruit on offer; clean and forward; good value early drinking tawny."
US Wine and Spirits Magazine, January/February 2004 88/100 “Scents of butterscotch candies deepen toward wood tones and hazelnuts in this slightly gruff Aussie tawny. For late night sipping with tales of Ned Kelly.”

Winemakers Comments |
Each year our 26 rows of Portuguese grape varietals are harvested at high sugar levels. This wine is then transferred into barrels and casks of different volumes for several years (anything between 5 and 50 years). These parcels of varying ages are then blended together prior to bottling to create the perfect balanced wine, for drinking now. Our Tawny has concentrated ripe fruit and nutty aromas and a highly aromatic brandy spirit. The palate has outstanding length of lovely dried fruit, making it stand out from the crowd.
