Topaque Icecream

Jocks Topaque Icecream

IT'S not often that ice cream makers and vignerons come together but it happened in South Melbourne last week.

If you were lucky enough to be in the Prince Wine Room in Banks St tasting the new topaque (formerly known as tokay) range of sweet wines, you also got to sample a new flavour from nearby Jock's Ice Cream in Albert Park.

His topaque wine-flavoured ice cream is made from the new Rutherglen range.  Topaque is a new name invented by the winemakers but the wine is as old as time.  The colour ranges from a deep amber to a light honey and the flavours have touches of tea, raisin and butterscotch.  For Jock Main, Jock's owner, it's a match made in heaven.
